Privacy Policy

Together is an app for couples to keep plans, date ideas, lists and movies in one shared space, and to play games together. It is made by Mieczyslaw Sicinski ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app uses, where it is kept, who can see it, and how you can delete it.

The short version: your plans, lists and movies are stored in your own iCloud and shared only with your partner. We keep only what's needed for your account and to link you with your partner. We don't show ads, don't track you, and don't sell or share your data with advertisers.

01What we store about you

When you create an account, we store the following with our backend provider, Supabase, on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany):

  • Account details: your email address, your first name and surname (if you add them), and how you signed in (Apple, Google or email). If you use Sign in with Apple and choose "Hide My Email", we only receive Apple's private relay address.
  • Sign-in identifiers: the user ID that Apple or Google gives us when you sign in with them. If you sign up with email, we store your password only in encrypted (hashed) form; we can't read it.
  • Your shared space: the names you entered for the two of you, the date you got together (if you added it), which two accounts belong to the space, and a private iCloud link to the space so your partner's phone can open it.
  • Partner codes: the 6-character codes you create to invite your partner. Each code works once and expires after 24 hours. To stop people guessing codes, we briefly record failed code attempts (the time of the attempt and your account).

02What stays in your iCloud

Your plans, date ideas, lists, movie and series picks, ratings and other content you add are stored in your iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, and shared with your partner through iCloud sharing. We cannot see or access this content. It is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

03While the app is open

  • Live status: while you have Together open, your partner's phone can see that you are "here", along with your first name. This is sent through a private channel that only the two of you can join, and it isn't stored.
  • Live games: when you play Ludo together live, the dice rolls and moves are sent between your two phones and aren't stored. Turn-based Ludo games use Apple's Game Center and are covered by Apple's terms.

04Other services the app uses

  • Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google handle signing in if you choose them. They receive the information needed to sign you in, under their own privacy policies.
  • TMDB (The Movie Database) provides movie and series information and posters. When you search, the search text is sent to TMDB. We don't send TMDB your name, email or account details. Like any website, TMDB can see your device's IP address. See TMDB's privacy policy.
  • Supabase hosts our database, sign-in and live channel, and processes data only on our behalf.

We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking tools.

05Why we use your information

Only to run the app for you: to sign you in, to link you with your partner, to show your partner your name and live status, and to keep your account secure (for example, limiting guesses at partner codes). Under EU data protection law (GDPR), we do this because it's needed to provide the app you asked for (Article 6(1)(b)), and, for abuse prevention, because of our legitimate interest in keeping the app safe (Article 6(1)(f)).

06Who can see your information

  • Your partner sees your first name, your live status while the app is open, and the content in your shared space.
  • Service providers listed above process data only to provide their service.
  • We don't sell your data and don't share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

07How long we keep it, and deleting your account

We keep your account information until you delete your account. You can do this at any time in the app: Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, your name, your link to your partner and any partner codes from our servers. The shared space record is removed once neither of you is in it.

Content stored in iCloud stays in your iCloud until you delete it. To remove it, delete it in the app, or in your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.

08Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or object to how we use it. Most of this you can do in the app (edit your name in Profile, or delete your account). For anything else, contact us at the address below. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

09Children

Together is not intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

10Security

All data is encrypted in transit. Our database only lets each person reach their own account and the space they belong to.

11Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
